The NWBC will discuss the following issues of vital importance to the continued prosperity of women-led businesses:  access to capital, women in STEM, and women’s entrepreneurship in rural communities.

“Throughout the past year, both pre and post pandemic, the Council has been laser focused on developing policy recommendations that propel women business owners and entrepreneurs forward.,” says NWBC Chair Liz Sara.  “This meeting is paramount to our mission of providing advice and policy recommendations to the White House, Congress, and the SBA, and we look forward to sharing our vision of a more prosperous future for women’s business enterprise.”

During the public meeting, each of the Council’s four subcommittees (Access to Capital & Opportunity, Women in STEM, Rural Women’s Entrepreneurship, and Communications) will present their policy recommendations to the full body for deliberation. The Council encourages public comment and feedback. The Eventbrite registration page includes an opportunity to do so, and individuals may also email info@nwbc.gov with comment.

Following the formal public meeting, NWBC will also host a ‘Listening Session.’ This session will provide women business owners and entrepreneurs the unique opportunity to share their challenges and opportunities with NWBC as the Council prepares its policy priorities for Fiscal Year 2021. This session is also open to the public; however, advance notice of attendance is requested. The Eventbrite registration page for the public meeting will include a check box asking if you plan to join the follow-up session. A link to the session will be provided via email reminders and shared during the live public meeting.
