More about the Council:
The NWBC was established via the Women’s Business Ownership Act of 1988, HR 5050. Throughout the years, the NWBC has brought together women business owners, policymakers, bankers, representatives of women’s business organizations and other stakeholders to identify the unique challenges facing women business owners and to formulate potential solutions.
As the government’s only independent voice for women entrepreneurs, the NWBC’s mission is two-fold:
- Support and conduct groundbreaking research that provides insight into women business enterprises from startup to success, and
- Share the findings to ultimately incite constructive action and policies.
Our research is centered on four key issues facing women business owners: access to capital, access to markets, job creation and growth, and data.
