In celebration of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day we have launched a new video featuring our esteemed Chair Carla Harris urging Congress to pass the Women’s Small Business Ownership Act.
Just a few months ago, Senator, and Chair of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Maria Cantwell introduced the Women’s Small Business Ownership Act of 2014 to help women-owned businesses by improving access to lending, business training, and federal contracting. This is a big moment, and an important piece of legislation.
The Council Members are working day and night to make sure that women entrepreneurs have everything they need to be successful – including access to capital, access to markets, and important resources and support as their businesses grows.
The bill has been gaining support and co-sponsors for the past few months (one component, sole sourcing authority for women-owned small businesses, might even make it into the final National Defense Authorization Act), and we’re rallying to get the bill over the finish line.
You can read more about the bill here and watch the video and share to stand with women entrepreneurs!
According to their website, Women’s Entrepreneurship Day is the world’s largest celebration of women innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare in 144 countries. Learn more.
