National Small Business Week: NWBC Recognizes Women’s Economic Impact


Every year since 1963, the U.S. Small Business Administration honors our nation’s entrepreneurs and small business owners through its annual National Small Business Week. This year’s National Small Business Week will be held May 12th-May 16th. Throughout the week SBA and partners will highlight America’s outstanding entrepreneurs and small business owners through a multi-city tour.
 
The National Women’s Business Council (NWBC) released the following statement commemorating National Small Business Week: 
 

NWBC Welcomes New Executive Director


(Washington, DC) — Today, the National Women’s Business Council (NWBC) announced its new Executive Director: Amanda Brown. Amanda was most recently the National Political Director for Rock the Vote. She is a Forbes 2014 30-under-30 recipient and has previously served as an Advisor for Strategic Planning to the U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu.
 

Mother’s Day Tribute: NWBC Highlights Top Moms in Business


As Mother’s Day approaches the National Women’s Business Council (NWBC) is honoring Mother’s Day in conjuction with StartUpNation by celebrating our nation’s top 100 leading moms in business. In tribute to mom-entrepreneurs, StartUpNation will be highlighting astonishing moms in business with their 6th annual Leading Moms in Business competition.
 

NWBC Statement on National Equal Pay Day


In honor of National Equal Pay Day, the National Women's Business Council released the following statement from the NWBC Chair Carla Harris:
